Abstract: The progress of modern weather operations in China is reviewed in this paper. The modern weather operation status quo is summarized with respect to forecast technology and platform, forecasters team training and forecast operation system and so on. Based on the development experience of modern weather operation, tracking international meteorological science and technology development frontier, the paper outlooks the future development trend of modern weather operations.
