Abstract:
Using conventional observation data, observations from mesoscale automatic weather stations, Doppler radar data from Zhengzhou and Puyang, microwave radiometer data from Hebi, we analyzed a thunderstorm that occurred in Northern Henan in June 2017. The results show that the cold trough at high levels and warm air in lower levels lead to unstabile strati fi cation. The convection developed to the southwest and spread backwards along the surface convergence line. Cold air intrusion was an important factor that trigered severe convection and increased the vapor condition. The spread of the weak cold air maintained the surface convergence line, which was conducive to the convergence and vertical transmission of vapor. This can also change the distribution of vapor and increase the vapor saturation. The Doppler radar data and microwave radiometer data should be used for strong convective weather forcasts.
