Abstract:
The plateau weather systems play a very important role in the extreme weather and climate events leading to the Tibetan Plateau (TP) and Southwest China, as well as in the weather system of summer precipitation in eastern China caused by the eastward movement. Among them, the Tibetan Plateau vortex (TPV), the Tibetan Plateau shear line (TPSL) and the Southwest vortex (SWV) are the most representatives of the low value of weather systems. This paper reviews some new developments in the field of synoptic dynamics of low value systems over the TP in the past 10 years, focusing on the study of TPV dynamics, TPSL dynamics, mesoscale dynamic diagnosis of SWV, dynamic analysis of coupling effect between TPV and SWV, dynamic analysis of relationship between TPSL and TPV, and intraseasonal oscillation on TPV Based on the latest research results and the development trend of related theoretical methods and technical means, some research directions with potential development in this field are prospected and put forward, hoping to promote this weak research subject, as well as the formation of new discipline growth point, new concept and new theory with enlightening significance and reference value.
