Abstract:
Using ERA reanalysis data, Doppler radar data and wind profile radar from Zhengzhou Airport, we analyzed a thunderstorm that occurred in Zhengzhou Airport which caused extensive flight delays on 6 August 2017.The results showed that this was a low-vortex thunderstorm process. It affected by the dry cold air in the rear of the Mongolian cold vortex moving eastward and southward and the middle layer with shear convergence.Southwest warm and humid air currents and water vapor around the typhoon became water vapor sources.Cold trough at high levels and warm air in lower levels lead to unstable stratification, the surface convergence line and outflow boundary triggered this process. The Doppler radar data and the wind profile radar data could well reflect the change information of precipitation and wind shear in short-term strong convective weather.
