Abstract: This paper briefly describes the significance of research and experiment on hail suppression in Weibei fruit production area of Shaanxi Province. The advances of hail research in Weibei fruit production area in climate, radar echo, sounding of hail cloud, hail microphysics, numerical simulation, hail suppression effect and problems existing in the research are discussed. These results can deepen the understanding of hail formation process in Weibei, and are of great significance to study efficient hail suppression methods and improve hail defense effect.
