Abstract:
MaXPol, a kind of dual-polarization Doppler weather radar, which is developed by a group from Chengdu University of Information Technology, is designed based on the X-band weather radar distributed in the developed countries. The radar is characterized by observational sensitivity better than -10 dBz at 75 km, and the advantage of identification of range fold by the coherent-on-receive technology. W. These parameters can ensure that the data quality control, and form a variety of meteorological products. The radar, which has the prominent abilities of monitoring, forecasting and warning of severe convective weather, plays a significant role in the construction of Weining mode, a command management and operation of weather modification in Weining County.According to its abundant high spatiotemporal resolution products, the weather modification command system could conduct rocket and artillery seeding operation intelligently by monitor. It can effectively improve the quality of weather modification operation, and has practical significance to improve the level of meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation.
