Progress in Satellite Microwave Remote Sensing of Atmospheric Temperature and Moisture Profiles and Their Applications

  • In this paper, we reviewed the techniques of using satellite-borne microwave sounders for remote sensing of atmospheric temperature and humidity profiles. And introduced three primary algorithms including statistical regression, one-dimensional variation method and the latest scene-dependent methods. In the end, the newly developed microwave sounder platform, as well as the prospect of possible new retrieval technologies and products, were discussed.
