Comparative Validation of Gridded Real-Time Temperature Analysis Products with Different Spatial Resolutions in Chongqing

  • By comparing and testing the data quality of 1 km and 5 km resolution national gridded real-time temperature analysis products in high temperature months in Chongqing, we provide reference for the operational application of the two products and for enhanced data quality in high temperature weather. The results show that the values of both 1 km and 5 km products are relatively small, with the average absolute errors being 0.63 ℃ and 1.1 ℃, respectively. The increase of the observed temperature at the stations is accompanied with the increase of the average error for both of the two products. Meanwhile the average error of 1 km products in each high temperature range is always less than that of 5 km products. Moreover, with the increase of altitude, the accuracies of the two products decrease, which reach the highest in the temperature observation range of 20, 25 ℃. Under the different altitude intervals, the accuracy of the gridded real-time products of 1 km is always higher than that of 5 km, and the accuracy of 5 km products is higher at night than that during the day. It can be seen that the two gridded real-time products are greatly affected by high temperature and high altitude. In the future, optimized data fusion scheme can be selected based on the local complex terrain of Chongqing for improved localization measures.
